The never-ending holiday that starts with Christmas is over! Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Santo Stefano then New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and finally the Epiphany on January 6th, when the Italian children get their stockings.I have a website which goes into more details about the Italian holidays if you want to check it out, click here.

As soon as the Epiphany is over, my husband Andrea says that Carnevale starts. Carnevale is a huge celebration here and you will find a lot of festivals big and small. I adore going to the Parade in Viareggio with their HUGE papermache floats.
