I adore being near the sea and really don’t get there often enough.

It’s funny, it’s only a couple of hours away, but since moving here I have adapted to the way of life and locals really don’t go that often. You tend to stay near home. But they get long paid vacations and that is when they get to stay a month somewhere!

There are several dishes I always have when going to Livorno, the torta di ceci and the Cacciucco.
