I have fallen in love with Naples. My first trip, maybe not so much, as we also drove from Naples down and around the Amalfi coast and were in an accident, so perhaps my first TASTE of the area was a bit tainted.
It was my friend’s first trip out of the USA and driving the coast is not for the week of heart. I often suggest hiring a driver to enjoy the trip and not have a heart attack. The Italians have their own way of driving and the farther south you go the wilder it gets.
Our driver Ciro stopped for a fun foto op and a morning Moka on our drive.Having a driver takes the stress out of the trip!
You may want to ask San Gennaro for a little protection before renting a car and driving on your own. I have done it. It’s possible.
Naples is also a great base to take a ferry boat to visit the islands nearby or even to hop down the coast without driving.
I am a huge fan of the Island of Ischia with it’s hot springs. You can get to Capri and Procida easily from here. You can even take the aliscafo, smaller faster boats to get to Sorrento and then tour the Amalfi Coast from there.
For my guide I am concentrating on the Markets and Naples ( Napoli) and some of my favorite places to eat and drink as well as some don’t miss museums.
Napoli is so much more than Pizza. I am not a huge fan of pizza as it really fills me up,people order their own pizza’s in Italy and they usually hang off the plate.
I am posting the guide now as I have so many places already listed I have been to, but will be updating it on a research trip next week. When you buy my guides, they are automatically updated for you.
I am visiting some friends in Naples and mostly am going to eat street food and take fotos of street art, another passion of mine.
If you become a paid subscriber, you can download the app and then later this month I am sharing recipes from Naples! I have so many favorites, it’s going to be hard to choose.
Mille grazie for all the support which allows me to continue my research and share with you. There are a lot of blog posts on my website as well about my love for Naples.
