Celebrating San Lorenzo

Patron Saint of Chefs

In Florence, San Lorenzo is the Patron Saint of the Mercato Centrale. Probably as it is in the San Lorenzo Church neighborhood. Neighborhoods often have the name of the major church in the area.

The celebrate by offering pasta with ragu and watermelon normally to everyone for free. I immagine not this year due to Covid.
